ANDREA INCONTRI SPRING SUMMER 2014 COLLECTION – MILANO FASHION WEEK

The sea and the keeper of the lighthouse, strong yet silent, peering out and controlling the illuminated horizon. Hidden by an architecture of colors and matter, where infinite waves leave their traces whilst bleaching out surfaces.

He observes life stories: those of sailors and commanders, crew workers and garments that are meticulously tailored and hand-made in Italy. Strong oceanic shades of color ranging from deep indigo, sky blue and navy. As well as, sand optic white combined whit carmine red, fluorescent orange and black.

Potente and documentative prints. Geometric archetypes slowly detatching from the lighthouse walls; images of waves transforming into one collective collage, techno-industrial effects in blue and white tones, with random pops of color.

Single and double-breasted jackets, parkas and shirts singed with drawstrings of raw cord. Bombers, bermudas, and super lightweight windproof tank tops. Effortless polo shirts without buttons along with panels asymmetrically mounted on precision fit bermuda-boxer shorts.

Micro-quilted denim and washed piquet stretch cottons. Two-tone striped seersucker paired with thin, pinstriped horizontal and vertical patterns. Crinkled nylons and jacquard fabrics inspired by classical neckties in which create a sophisticated yet dynamic lightweight effect. Knitwear of dense, ribbed cotton are reminiscent to that of a scuba divers suit.

The materials and colors return to the female form like sirens that have been retained on the shore of reality. Dressed similar to that of her male counterpart, the lighthouse keeper in denim graced with jeweled brooches, illustrations of impalpable anemones that gradually transform into an all over print or as delicately placed three dimensional petals, glistening on the fabric.

From the accessories emerge the Shark backpack. An unprecedented volume ranging form medium sized to maxi, in which the calfskin leather in this seasons colors are characterized by the double stitches of the tetrahedron and evoke the shape of the sharks fin. Coordinated with slip-on loafers and lace up sailing shoes with robust, contrasting white zig zag soles.

ANDREA INCONTRI FALL WINTER 2013-14 WOMEN’S COLLECTION – MILANO FASHION WEEK

A well educated elegance, more than formal and almost compelled, graces this Andrea Incontri collection. Discretion, a stern mood yet modern and sensual is on top of the list for this eccentric lady apparently ordinary, yet extraordinary.

Incontri designs the beauty of well mannered and measured geastures, the importance of dressing well: lost traditions to help define contemporary femininity.

This project was born from fabrics, from the matter of clothes, to build up a clear image with precise lines and shapes. A long lean silhouette, essential small proportions, new tailored separates all make for a brand new concept of elegance.

Frottage inspired original prints create hints of sculptures and ancient coins on different textures, taking decoration to a whole new level.
Wool crépe, structured fabrics, tricot inspired embroideries on sheer organza: fabrics get a 3D quality.

The colour palette is deep: light blue, thick yellow, sweet pink, dark red, ivory, black and chestnut brown. Romantic little dresses with small collars, silk jacquard pieces where roses bloom, candid crisp shirts and warm soft long wintery coats.

A whole collection of accessories completes the look. Polished leather handbags with contrasting colour pockets, bidimentional sleek bags, evening clutches with dark crystals beaming gently.

Tall boots get things straight: the mood is well defined by sensual heels on feminine shoes that don’t let decoration take over the essence of shape and function. Evening mules, bon ton mary-jean shoes and the signature stilettoes come in solid colours: ink black, deep red, hot chocholate, sweet beige.

ANDREA INCONTRI FALL WINTER 2013-14 MEN’S COLLECTION – MILANO FASHION WEEK

A knight, a Poet, an Artist living his time: this is the new man according to Andrea Incontri. A perfect balance between the strength of dignity and a kind soul, seeking beauty.
A collection of Contemporary Classics, the natural seduction of pure design where today’s living can’t be without old times’ values.
Neutral and soft colours go together with compact strong hues: camel and dark brown, black and white or Donegal tweed. A colour palette melting in frescoes-like prints, inspired by Pisanello masterpieces painted in Mantua, the designer’s hometown.
It’s an esthetic to be found in proud and talented painters: a manly man, ancient and powerful, always searching for pure and warm fabrics, decided volumes and new cuts. Soft velvety wool, crisp tweed, double jersey and a rubbered canvas that changes with use. Touch and feel is a favourite this season, so no surprise in finding original embroideries on shirts, developed in different geometric textures with a 3D vibe to it.
Menswear essentials are developed through out this Progetto Sartoriale by Andrea Incontri, like not-to-miss pieces in every gentleman’s wardrobe. Single or double breast jackets, short bomber jackets and oversize coats. The cardigan turns into an armour through special film covering plain canvas.
A vision mixing together different elements: the attention is on big lepels, on fading prints, on long scarves to protect from cold, on shirts muted in painter’s working robes – with a special pocket for the pencil – over long winter underpants. A new menswear concept.
Accessories from bags to shoes are a must have in this signature collection: soft backpacks, big geometric tote bags, leather ipad cases, flat bidimensional zipped envelopes, portfolio like bags. The italian soft loafer is handstiched, boots have precise raw edges and the classic shoe has stripes in contrasting colours.

ANDREA INCONTRI SPRING SUMMER 2013 WOMEN’S COLLECTION – MILANO FASHION WEEK

For the next summer season Andrea Incontri reinterprets the value of Italian taste that meets the world and modernity, bringing together inspiration from traditional culture and influences from far-away, exotic lands.
Sentimental, Graphic, Oriental. The collection reveals a romantically cultured and orderly attitude, where order and balance are expressed through geometric shapes printed on fabrics or woven directly into the greatly innovative textures. An image whose onset is in the color, whose primary reference is the hydrangea:
a flower that originated in the extreme lands of sun but that is also profoundly linked to the memories of the Italian Riviera in the Sixties and Seventies.
Starting from dazzling white, the palette moves towards innocent and delicate nuances – sky blue, wisteria, matte pink – in micro and macro checkers that bring back childhood memories of elementary notebooks.
A chromatic lightness that later tends towards the nighttime in the refined pairings of dark nuances of black and blue, to then surprise the monochrome with extremely sophisticated prints of floral deconstructions and reconstructions, or embroidery using vintage thread, individually created.
The collection becomes a tale of symmetry of style and function, using fabrics from classical tailoring and from the undying artisanal vision that always resurges to exalt an embedded attention and research: from woven cotton to insubstantial poplin, from printed chiffon to seersucker silk raffia, each and every surface filled with archetype meanings.
The silhouettes are studied in detail to tell the story of the dynamism of modern rhythms but also of a desire for femininity that alternates fitted bustier dresses decorated with diamond shapes with fluid and transparent evening gowns.
Volumes are often dictated by oversized garments: shirts and tunics with geometrical lines, short and wide pants, bermuda shorts inspired by boxer shorts, mini-jackets with kimono sleeves.
The shapes are straightforward yet animated by panels and folds that reconfirm the structural architecture of Andrea Incontri’s fashion code, a story he also tells in the linear blouses that take inspiration from school smocks, in the pencil skirts and mini dresses that reinvent the concept of the “little black dress”.
Finally, accessories complete the look creating strong material and visual contrast: from strappy sandals with cleated soles to pumps with double metallic buckles; from shoppers covered in seasonal prints to “college” school bags to be carried on the shoulders. Last but not least the precious bucket bag, a reminder of the small baskets geishas used to use as caskets of seduction and vanity.
