An Italian collection that epitomizes and encapsulates a heritage rich with art, literature, natural beauty, life philosophy, and superior aesthetic. The Alberta Ferretti FW 2015-16 collection utilizes this historic culture to build and portray Italian excellence in the 21st century.
“I started thinking about the importance of imagery in contemporary culture, and how communication now largely takes place through images shared on social media. This brought me back to the Italian Renaissance when portraits could convey the era of society.
Culture was described so richly with contexts and meanings that are still remembered and commemorated today. These portraits inspired the collection’s materials and elaborate embroideries as well as my ideal woman of authentic, yet modern, beauty” declares Alberta Ferretti.
The collection starts from an aesthetic that is valorized by history, the base of all modernity. Developed through long and short dresses, skirts, jackets, coats, and feminine, refined furs, the fabrics are extraordinarily manually embellished with clean lines and contained volumes.
The shirts are born in white chiffon, white organza and enriched with lace, silk or mohair inserts. Contrasting materials such as tweed with lurex, gobelin and brocade for the mini dresses, coats and jackets. The long, chiffon gowns with tapestry or mosaic inspired prints gain a striking, graphic quality. The furs are light, just like the shearling coats and jackets.
The dresses are adorned with handcrafted velvet tridimentional embroideries or come in white chiffon or transparent silk plumetis. Both are light and precious, just like the mohair woven organza, used for the small blouses, dresses, ruched mini skirts and long, featherweight coats.
A true Alberta Ferretti collection that through sartorial excellence, beauty, and precious materials transposes the immense Italian heritage onto fashion.

The Alberta Ferretti Spring/Summer 2015 collection embodies a world constructed with infinite freedom by a woman who knows how to be her own person. A woman who deeply understands herself and the world around her.
“Through this collection, I wanted to express the sense of freedom possessed by women who think for themselves. A feeling, but also a lifestyle, reflected through style.” says Alberta Ferretti.
The color nude is the backbone of this collection: a transparent hue not defined by color. The color nude is symbolic of lightness, individual strength and a strong character. In this collection, we see nude macramé pants and skirts decorated with tri-dimensional petal appliqués, jumpsuits with softly pleated lapels and pants, culottes as slips.
In a darker shade of nude we find tubular organza ribbons placed on chiffon which create a woven, tri-dimensional effect on both long and short dresses. The intangible nature of mousseline silk, white cotton and pastel organza gowns with floral embellishments, reminiscent of ceramic.
The suede fringe enhances this sense of lightness, completing the gowns and macramé embellished ponchos. Suede vests and gowns, hand woven or carved are lengthened by asymmetrical fringe, just like the handbags and shoes.
These accessories take this collection towards a new, bohemian freedom filled with knowledge and awareness. A collection that celebrates the unique woman who refuses to be defined or belong to a group.

Alberta Ferretti’s Fall/Winter 2014-15 collection tells a story of images, words, sensations and emotions which develop within a feminine, luxurious world and become coats, jackets, skirts and gowns.
A metamorphosis that fuses nature and feminine beauty. A femininity that is sweetened and enriched, enhanced by movement, poise and gestures.
«I want to convey emotions. Simple, true emotions like the ones which occur spontaneously when observing nature. The spontaneous embellishment that captures your eye when a flash of light filters through the forest.
I don’t want to surprise anybody with artificial effects, it’s not in my nature. In my opinion, emotions are either spontaneous or aren’t emotions at all.», says Alberta Ferretti.
This enchanting metamorphosis builds this emotion of natural luxury; the birds’ feathers, the leaves on the branches and those that fall on the grassy ground. Tree barks with varying hues, flashes of light that sprinkle gold on every surface they touch.
A forest that comes alive. A nature that envelops the female body in the form of wool panels, seamlessly adorned with flashes of gold lame’, chiffon lined jackets, alpaca coats lined with paillettes reminiscent of the undergrowth’s natural camouflage.
Inlaid jackets of silk and wool embroidered with jais and glass beads, skirts and gowns decorated with feathers, The tridimensional jacquard that reminds us of the bark of a tree, gowns covered in weaved trimmings of silk, leather and wool.

“For my Spring/Summer 2013 collection I envisioned a collection in which a women would float lightly as if weightless, yet still maintaining her strength and individuality. ” states Alberta Ferretti in describing her distinct and contemporary style in which lightness is primordial.
Both short and long dresses are doubled and layered creating liquid, iridescent, and floating surfaces as if they were light creatures suspended in the air.
The silhouettes are in constant movement and enhanced by the lightness of the fabrics.
The languid shapes evolve following the feminine and ethereal movement of the woman as she moves.
Short dresses are embellished with beadwork and tremblant embroideries and paired with sheer organza tunic dresses with ephemeral beaded fringe.
Iridescent dresses appear to be suspended on the body, anchored by invisible tulle straps.
Shorts, jackets, skirts and overcoats in luxurious Silk Shantung are fashioned into light and delicate silhouettes.
Long diaphanous gowns in Silk Chiffon shimmer as the iridescent under layer is magically reflected through the top layer of chiffon, creating volume while a small train enhances the movement.
Lace inserts outline tattoos on the body and satin sequin nets reflect the light of precious jewels.
The colour palette of turquoise, bright whites, aqua green, and pale greys radiate an airy lightness.
