September 1981, the Memphis group exhibited for the first time at the Milan gallery Arc’74. The invitation: a card printed with red and orange roses. As the Memphis movement, MSGM experiences and combines graphics and ska to acid feminine symbol for excellence, the most romantic: the rose.
An adventure, a game … The tone of surreal, almost irreverent.
Memphis print on marocain of wool, of faille and on neoprene. Print on scuba roses, crêpe de chine and of brocade.
Chantilly lace interrupt the T line of clothes rights. Flash of silver as printed on lace rebrodé.
Silver reflector in 3D on fabric in lurex foil … Even dyed bright green and ink blue.
Then bright red, bright orange and pink. Finally creamy white and black. Mini dress “charleston-ska”, with rectangular sequins.
The fabric becomes Chanel bouclé check for jackets, pants and shorts from soul rock.
Woolen cloth polka dot jersey and double-padded and quilted: a touch of sophisticated chic!
Patchwork for printing outside the box. Chevronne roses combined with acid, the diamond and the geo winged horse. Lightning with edges “EKG print” framework and ska.
Mink patchwork multicolored herringbone, and astrakhan frisé printed Tibetan goat blood red and graphite … On top of it-girl dresses with dot fabric or viscose crape.
