PHILIPP PLEIN SPRING SUMMER 2017 WOMEN’S COLLECTION – MILAN FASHION WEEK

Philipp Plein Fashion Show SS 2017 Milan

Pink flamingos, magic mushrooms, ice-cream trucks and a giant carousel… Welcome to Ghettoland, a candy-coloured town where everyone dreams big and fantasies really do come true. Entering through a towering ghetto blaster in a chauffeur-driven Cadillac, hip hop queen and ultra-vixen Fergie reigns supreme in this town. Her song M.I.L.F. $ booms through the enormous speakers: “You got that, you got that, you got that milk money… I got that, I got that, I got that MILF money.”

The Ghettoland girls chant the lyrics like a national anthem. These women are beautiful, powerful and in control. There are no desperate housewives here: these women run the place with a rod of glittering gold and they dress like hip hop honeys. Everyday uniforms like jeans and tracksuits are pimped-up into super-luxe pieces with the addition of croc-prints, intricate embellishment and layers of heavy gold jewellery.

Baseball caps, high-tops and bomber jackets are elevated into perfect examples of street-style couture. More is definitely more, and these women want to be noticed; their playthings – the local college boys and hired help – can only stand back and watch in awe as they swagger by. Alice in Ghettoland is the largest and most ambitious show ever attempted in Milan Fashion Week.

It is also the last time Philipp Plein will present a collection in Milan. Starting next season, the global brand will stage its explosive extravaganzas in New York City. Get ready, it’ll soon be time for a new adventure. #ALICEINGHETTOLAND

PHILIPP PLEIN SPRING SUMMER 2016 MEN’S COLLECTION – MILAN FASHION WEEK

Spring Fashion Man Philipp Plein Collection 2016
Spring Fashion Man Philipp Plein Collection

#PLEINPUNK

The new Philipp Plein men’s collection for Spring Summer 2016 is inspired by the ” hip-rock” style. A combination of hip hop, heavy-metal, rock and rap. But most of all, a reinterpretation of the world of punk.

Dramatic opposites are combined in the same look to create a striking and ultra-modern outcome. Oversized t-shirts and extra skinny pants. Zippers and padded shoulders worn over classic knitwear. Details of the world of bikers with a quilted effects.

White, black and red are the main colors. Strong, divergent and primary, they dialogue as the slang of a rap song. Prints and embroideries bring heavy-metal band‘s ultra colorful and sharp writings from the 1990’s back into fashion: Gun’s and Roses, Metallica, Iron Maiden. The hard and romantic aesthetic of their concert T-shirts relives according to the style of PHILIPP PLEIN. The same happens with PP78, the House’s logo with all the designer’s favorite hashtags and the ones created for the collection.

Studs and patchwork technique decorate every surface; rather than just details, they become true protagonists of the #PleinPunk male image. Hand-finished leather jackets carve out an extremely important space. With writings, designs or handmade airbrushing, they are customized as if they were created for a rock star.

Formal menswear is completely redesigned as a remix of the tradition of tailoring. Cotton suits are deconstructed offering a new skinny fit with slim black, studded or graffiti printed ties. The shoes are extra-luxury sneakers made with fine leathers and embellished with studs and customizations that make them as precious as unique pieces.

PHILIPP PLEIN FALL WINTER 2015-16 WOMEN’S COLLECTION – MILAN FASHION WEEK

Fall Fashion Woman Philipp Plein Collection 2015

THERE WILL BE NO MIRACLES HERE

An  enormous functioning rollercoaster dominates the gutted interior of Milan’s  historic Palazzo delle Scintille. The black matte structure is  covered in Led lights and as the train commences its wild ride,  Azealia Banks kicks off PHILIPP PLEIN’S  Fall/Winter 1516 women’s fashion show.

Followed by a super cast of models including Lindsey Wixson, Jessica Stam, and Binx Walton strutting to a punk rock soundtrack interspersed with amplified sounds of the rollercoaster making its way around the track.

Parabolic curves and vertiginous slopes as symbols of adrenalinic style and breathtaking glamour that transform outfits into pure, strong and overwhelming emotion.

As seen in the Men’s collection, street style is elevated to extreme luxury. Mink and fox fur basketball jerseys with python and crocodile inserts. Two-tone fur stoles. Wild Mongolian Kidassia coats. Geometric bandeau bras for extreme sports.

Black and white. And just a touch of orange. Couture capes with clean, sharp lines. Close-fitting dresses and python and crocodile jogging pants. Trenches and black patent details. Flat black leather boots with straps. High belts and wide-brimmed hats to enhance geometries and glamour of the look.

Enveloping cady. Fortuny pleating. Luxury and technology characterize the fabrics of the long dresses opened by round holes, tears and cuts. Black, sensual and nightly couture. Illuminated only by embroideries of techno 3D-effect multi-color CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements.

The tridimensional image of a diamond panther that decorates each piece of the collection, from clothes to accessories, represents the symbol of the #pleinwarriors; the show’s hashtag created to launch and share the free, proud and overwhelming spirit of PHILIPP PLEIN’s aesthetics.

PHILIPP PLEIN FALL WINTER 2015-16 MEN’S COLLECTION – MILANO FASHION WEEK

Fall Fashion Man Philipp Plein 2015

Out of the darkness, internationally renowned rapper and producer Snoop Dogg appears in the center stage boxing ring to perform his massive hit “What’s My Name”, followed by a live Mixed Martial Arts match featuring world champion “Demolition Man” while industrial percussionist set the mood for the start of the Autumn/Winter 2015/2016 PHILIPP PLEIN menswear fashion show.

Snoop Dogg kept the adrenaline going into the night with a high energy DJ set during the iconic PHILIPP PLEIN after-party.

The collection mirrors the adrenaline-fueled aesthetic of the challenges that men face nowadays. The main colors are black and white, army green, bordeaux and grey. Proportions and cuts are revolutionized while volumes of exotic skins become collection staples as never before. This represents a turning point for the fashion House, towards an uncompromising modernity, a #pleinwarriors style.

The urban match, the battle and concept of the boxing ring are represented through details borrowed from the world of sports and aviation. A mix of powerful inspirations that translate into an aggressive and extremely refined menswear collection.

Baseball jerseys and the wardrobe of underground athletes from boxing gyms to improvised street arenas transform into symbols of strength and luxury; oversize T-shirts realized entirely in crocodile or python, running pants reconstructed in kid glove-like leather and over the top python jumpsuits.

The bomber jacket, one of the most relevant symbols of the pioneers of aviation, is revised into a high-volume version. Classic lining goes external while fur is double-faced and features a play of contrasting volumes and colors.

Knitwear shows a rough face; a combination of military style in blatant contrast with extra soft leathers is seen throughout the entire collection. 3D geometric elements and logo graphics featuring the image of a ferocious panther decorate jackets and T-shirts together with gothic characters.

Accessories plainly underline the strength of the collection. Helmets, kneepads, ergonomic paddings are offered in python and leather. Steam-punk sneakers feature led-lighted soles. #PLEINWARRIORS
