ALEXANDER WANG FOR H&M: WOMEN’S AND MEN’S COLLECTION

Alexander Wang for H&M Collection

ALEXANDER WANG X H&M: SPORT, PERFORMANCE AND STYLE

THE WOMEN’S COLLECTION:

Alexander Wang X H&M for women captures the speed of the city, mixing sports and performance for everyday life. Technical details and fabrics are used for both function and fashion, including Wang’s first ever versatile performance wear wardrobe. The women’s collection includes over 35 exclusively designed garments, as well as a selection of accessories and playful objects. The result is a collection to be worn on the street, in the gym and at the club ‒ the way women live their lives today. Alexander Wang x H&M will be available online and in 250 stores worldwide on 6th November, 2014.

Athletic performance wear
Wang’s debut performance wear pieces include quick-dry black running tops and perforated laser-cut shorts, each bonded and branded with Alexander Wang in silver mesh. Seamless performance T-shirts, tank tops and crop tops are knitted in pointelle patterns that reveal a hidden tongue-in-cheek message when worn. The Alexander Wang logo features heavily in the collection, where it has been used in different scales on sports bras, compression crop tops, tights, dresses and bra tops.

Essentials
Performance details are used to create a collection of fashion pieces. This can be seen in the scuba dress with interwoven layers and cut-out waist detail and the panelled leggings that create a dynamic patchwork from a technical houndstooth jacquard and stretch silver reflective. Alexander Wang’s signature experimentation with fabric innovation is seen throughout the collection, especially in the black foam-injected crocodile-patterned sweatshirt and the scuba sweatshirt embossed with Alexander Wang branding. Wang’s clear understanding of the urban uniform is shown in the black scuba motorbike sweats and the black leather track pants with tear-away side panel press-studs.

Outerwear
Technical outerwear offers utilitarian protection, with a black seamless water-repellent parka with moulded baseball cap style hood and a grey jacquard scuba coat which is a must-have winter essential. The outerwear offering also includes black motorcycle jackets, one oversized style in scuba wool and another as a quilted leather puffer.

Accessories
Long scuba gloves with reflective logo, jacquard beanies and compression socks with a graphic logo treatment complete the outerwear look. Shoes include a high heeled boot with folded down rubberised leather and scuba sock, a box heel leather boot and a high-top scuba sneaker. A leather backpack with hidden branded rain cover in reflective silver and a padded drawstring satchel in rubberised leather will also be available.

Objects
To represent the scale of the Alexander Wang lifestyle and inject a sense of humour, the collection also includes a range of lifestyle items, including a yoga mat, water bottle, towels, sunglasses with an oversized head strap and swimming goggles. Actual size boxing gloves as well as a mini boxing gloves key-ring also feature in the collection, alongside a two-finger whistle ring and for the victor, a novelty magnetised Alexander Wang trophy cup.

MARNI TO DESIGN A SPRING COLLECTION FULL OF SIGNATURE PRINT AND PATTERN FOR H&M

H&M is proud to announce a spring designer collaboration with the Italian brand Marni. Famed for its original prints and inventive spirit, Marni is one of fashion’s most-loved labels, and its Founder and Creative Director Consuelo Castiglioni has created for H&M a spring collection for both women and men which capture the essence of Marni. Available from March 8, 2012 in around 260 stores worldwide and online, the collection features both clothing and accessories all at H&M’s prices, meaning everyone will have the chance to enter Marni’s world.
Marni is a label that sticks to its own path, setting its own trends for print, cut and silhouette that are always playful and elegant. Marni has remained a family owned-business as it has grown to become an international luxury brand with stores around the world.
Marni’s collection for H&M has all the freedom and experimentation for which the label is renowned, with all-over prints in strong colours all intended to be worn together in layers that both match and clash. For women, the colours are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African inspired or simpler colour blocks. The silhouettes are all Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. To finish the complete look the collection also includes jewellery, shoes, bags and scarves.
For men, the colours and fabrics are softened for a relaxed take on menswear staples that is truly Marni. The use of print is subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts, the silhouette a modern and relaxed take on masculine classics. The Marni collection is the latest designer collaboration for H&M, which has previously collaborated with brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, and most recently Versace.

VERSACE FOR H&M: STRONG COLOUR, WILD PRINT AND GLAMOROUS ATTITUDE

Versace’s collection for H&M is full of the pieces that have made the house of Versace legendary. Dominated by colour, print and cut, the brand’s creative director Donatella Versace has gone back to the archives to bring some Versace classics to a whole new audience. Iconic dresses are the focus of the women’s collection, while menswear is centered on sharp tailoring. Also for the first time an H&M designer collaboration will include homeware pieces, reflecting Versace’s influential home designs. All collections will be available in around 300 stores worldwide, as well as on-line, from 17th November.
Versace’s collection for H&M includes many of the iconic designs. For women, a classic black silk crepe dress has gold Grecian buttons on its patent straps, while the flow of a floor-length goddess gown is balanced by boning in the bodice. For night-time shine, multi-colour sequin dresses are covered in archival Versace prints, short metallic dresses come in either silver or gold, and strong colour shift dresses are embellished with studs in classic Greek motifs.
For H&M, Versace has revisited some of its most famous prints, which for women are used on pieces such as dresses, short pleat skirts, velvet bomber jackets, leggings and jeans. Meanwhile the importance of leather for Versace is reflected in leather jackets that come decorated with gold studs and zips. Accessories include a high-heeled laced boot and a studded suede high-heeled sandal, along with studded leather bags as well as velvet bags covered with the Miami palm print.
Versace’s men’s collection for H&M is a mix of slick tailoring and pieces of extravagant pattern. Suit jackets and trousers come in either black or pink, while a black tuxedo jacket has metallic tip trims on its pockets, and shirts have metallic wing-tips on the collars. Versace’s palm and optical prints are used on T-shirts, as well as on thin-knit cashmere sweaters, while print is also used on velvet bombers, jeans, and even underpants.
There’s leather in the men’s collection too, with a quilted leather jacket trimmed with gold studs in the Versace classical Greek pattern, which is repeated down the sides of black cotton shorts and a rolled-sleeve T-shirt. Accessories include embellished beanies and patterned caps, embellished or print scarfs, as well as hi-top sneakers and the perfect dress shoes.
Versace’s home pieces for H&M take full advantage of the house’s iconography, with pillows and a bedspread resplendent in the multicolour floral Japanese fan print, bringing the complete Versace lifestyle to H&M.
